Unison Lo-Fi & Alternative Beatmaker Pack

A digital artwork features a person's head adorned with braids and sunglasses, set against a gradient blue-purple backdrop. At the bottom, the text reads "Unison Lo-Fi & Alternative Beatmaker Pack"—a hip hop sample pack crafted for innovative music creators.

The Unison Lo-Fi & Alternative Beatmaker Pack is hands-down one of the most stacked lofi sample packs I’ve ever worked with, period.

It’s loaded with over 750 total samples, and they’re not just random/basic sounds 一 they’ve got soul, texture, and character baked into every single file.

You’re getting everything, like:

  • Deep, analog-style 808s
  • Layered drum loops
  • Moody melody loops
  • Tons of ready-to-flip MIDI files
  • So much more

What makes this sample pack so fire is the way it blends lofi hip-hop textures with that alternative, experimental edge (which I personally love).

This way, you’ve got room to explore different genres 一 whether you’re going for something gritty and raw or super chill and vibey.

The drums in this pack hit just right, especially when you stack the kicks and claps with some of the foley or FX textures for even more dimension.

Plus, the included guitar loops and melodic one shots are perfect for building emotional progressions that feel straight out of a rainy-night playlist.

PRO TIP: Take one of the melody loops, flip the MIDI, and layer it with a reversed guitar loop from the pack, then low-pass it around 800 Hz and sprinkle in some vinyl noise.

Just like that, you’ve got an emotional bed that sets the mood for any beat.

If you’re looking for a library that’s all-in-one and built to inspire, this one easily earns its spot among the best lofi sample packs out right now.

Unison LoFi MIDI Melody Collection

Unison Lo Fi MIDI Melody Collection - Unison

The Unison LoFi MIDI Melody Collection is made for producers who want full control over their melodic compositions while keeping that warm, emotional lofi vibe on point.

It’s packed with 120 original MIDI files, each tuned to sit right in the mix and bring that chill, nostalgic feeling that defines lofi music as a whole.

These melodies are all made to work perfectly with a wide range of instruments 一 whether you’re layering dusty guitars, airy synths, or analog pads.

Plus, each one is labeled by key and evenly spread across all 12 keys, so you can build tracks that sound intentional no matter where you start (no music theory needed).

One of the biggest advantages here in my opinion is flexibility…

Since it’s all MIDI, you can adjust the timing, tweak the velocity, or flip the notes completely to make something brand new while keeping that original feel.

The melodic flow works great over raw drums, soft vocals, or saturated bass.

So, whether you’re starting from scratch or dropping this into a nearly-finished beat, it will all mesh super naturally and fluidly.

PRO TIP: Pull in one of these MIDI files, throw a Rhodes or wurlitzer on it (dealer’s choice), and automate the filter cutoff right off rip.

Then, add some reverb and lowpass around 3kHz to tuck it behind your drum loops, which can set a perfect mood, especially when it comes to lofi tracks.

All-in-all, if you want addicting melodies that move and breathe without boxing you into a loop, this collection is the one for you, for sure.

Unison LoFi MIDI Chord Collection

Unison Lo Fi MIDI Chord Collection - Unison

And now let’s talk about one of my favorite all-time lofi sample packs: the Unison LoFi MIDI Chord Collection, which gives you way more control over the feel of your beats.

Inside, you’re getting 1,830 MIDI files (we’re talking full-on progressions and individual chords in every key 一 both major and minor).

It’s the kind of collection that lets you move fast when writing new compositions, while still giving your music the edgy harmonic vibe that defines the lofi sound.

The chords in this sample pack have character…

I mean, just by throwing one under a filtered melody loop, some soft vocals, and a laid-back drum loop, you’ve already got a full-blown vibe.

PRO TIP: Try grabbing a jazzy progression in A minor, tossing on a Rhodes or lo-fi synth patch, and pitching your bass down an octave to build that late-night mood instantly.

This is also a great way to get around beat block; load a random chord progression, and you’ll be halfway through a new track before you even realize it.

Whether you’re just starting to create music or you’ve already got a solid workflow, this sample pack adds depth, soul, and direction to your process.

Unison LoFi MIDI Drum Collection

Unison LoFi MIDI Drum Collection - Unison

If you want your drums to groove, breath, and feel more alive than ever, the Unison LoFi MIDI Drum Collection is your golden ticket.

This sample pack includes over 250 MIDI drum patterns, each one put together to give your beats that off-grid bounce and laid-back swing people love.

You’re getting 50 full drum kits, each mapped out with patterns using kicks, snares, percussions, and hi-hats (all designed to lock in that nostalgic pocket).

It’s perfect for stacking your own one shots on top of proven grooves, then tweaking velocities or nudging hits to build that loose, human timing.

And, if you want to take it further, try layering your own recorded-by-hand foley over one of the included patterns, then cut the highs and widen the stereo for a gritty analog feel.

I’m telling you, this pack is more than just patterns 一 it’s a way to skip the mechanical loops and tap into something more natural and full of life.

Advanced Techniques to Using These LoFi Sample Packs

Once you’ve downloaded and organized these game-changing lofi sample packs, the next step is pushing their potential beyond just ‘drag-and-drop.’ So, here are some advanced techniques to help lofi producers squeeze every bit of inspiration, texture, and life out of these samples like a true boss.

Use the #1 LoFi Plugin Around for Extra Authenticity (Zen Master)

You can bring a warm, vintage feel to your tracks by loading up Zen Master by Unison Audio and dialing in a few key settings.

You’ll want to start with the Hypnosis knob at 35% to introduce gentle movement and stereo width.

This adds that subtle, off-center drift you’d get from worn-out tape, which is perfect for synth chords or reversed guitar loops that need a little wobble to feel alive.

Then, blend in just 20% of Vinyl noise to lay down that classic crackle underneath your mix

For best results, select the ‘Crackle’ mode, set it to Follow Mode, and leave the noise level around -18dB to keep it tucked just behind your primary elements.

From there, a touch of Imbalance at 25% adds natural pitch drift, while the Ascend knob at 40% gives you spacious reverb without washing everything out.

This works great on piano or pad tracks, especially if you’re trying to make MIDI files sound like they were played through a dusty cassette.

Meanwhile, the Ascend knob at 40% adds spacious reverb with a smooth, vintage tail.

Try setting the decay to 2.1s and the mix level to around 30% for atmospheric transitions/intros.

And finally, rolling off the highs above 8kHz will tie it all together 一 locking in that dusty, nostalgic lofi vibe that producers chase all day.

Side note, you can even automate the filter over a section for a low-pass sweep effect that helps build contrast across your beats.

Layer Rain Textures Behind Vocal Chops for Emotion

You can try taking a dry vocal one shot from your library and pitch it down -3 semitones for a deeper, more intimate tone that sits better in lo-fi mixes.

This instantly gives the vocal a warmer, almost vintage character, especially when paired with soft drums and mellow melody loops.

Layer a textured foley sample (like footsteps on gravel or crinkling paper) under a subtle rain ambience, and run both through a low-pass EQ cutting everything above 2.5kHz.

This will keep the textures from clashing with the top-end of your instruments, and helps the whole layer blend into the background.

And, for even more extra movement, try automating the rain’s panning between 30% left and 30% right over 8 bars.

Set the rain ambience to around -10dB, just low enough to feel it rather than hear it directly.

Load up ValhallaRoom on the bus, set the mix to 40%, the decay to 1.2 seconds, and the pre-delay to 25ms to give the tail a sense of space without clouding your main vocals

A touch of modulation depth at 10% can also add gentle motion to the reverb tail for a more organic feel.

This combo adds atmosphere, soul, and emotional depth in quieter sections or bridges.

It’s a simple but powerful way to transform a plain vocal into something that feels cinematic and alive, so definitely don’t overlook it.

Remember, it’s all about pushing your creativity and trying new combinations until your track captures the exact mood you’re going for.

Resample MIDI Chords Through Analog Instruments

Load a chord progression from the Unison LoFi MIDI Chord Collection, and route it to an analog-style VST like TAL-U-No-LX or Arturia’s Stage-73 V

For example, a Cmaj7 or Dm9 progression in the lower register of Stage-73 can instantly add richness to your harmonic foundation.

This is better when paired with soft drum loops or ambient guitar one shots.

Once you’ve got the sound you like, bounce it to audio and pitch it down -5 semitones to deepen the tone and mellow the highs.

From there, stretch the audio clip to 120% of its original length using time-stretch mode in your DAW (digital audio workstation).

This will add that slightly warped, slowed-down energy without losing groove.

Next, run the audio through FabFilter Pro-Q 4, and set a low-pass filter around 1.8kHz with a gentle 12dB slope to remove excess digital sharpness.

You can also apply a subtle bell boost at 220 Hz (+1.5dB) to bring out the body of the chord and help it sit better under vocals or lead lines.

This combo adds soft roll-off, subtle pitch drift, and that unmistakable lo-fi feel producers love.

It also enhances the mood, warms up the texture, and adds a layer of soul that’s hard to replicate with plain digital chords.

This opens up an endless variety of ways to customize your sound 一 from chopping the audio, to reversing certain bars, to layering in field recordings for extra depth.

Push Your Drums with Reverse Percussion Layers

Grab a percussion one shot (like a rim shot or short perc hit) from the Unison Lo-Fi & Alternative Beatmaker Pack, then reverse it inside your DAW.

Look for one with a short tail and clear transient, like a woodblock-style rim, to make the effect more impactful.

Side note, if you’re using FL Studio, Ableton, or Logic, you can just reverse the audio clip directly and trim it to about 1/8 to 1/4 note in length.

Then you’re going to add a volume fade-in over exactly 1/4 beat, so it ramps up smoothly into the next snare or clap hit.

Just make sure to place it about 1/16 note before the snare lands 一 this timing gives the illusion of a pull-in without messing with the groove.

It works perfect between drum loop transitions or at the end of a bar to add anticipation.

Now EQ the reversed percussion by cutting at 200Hz (−3dB) using a bell filter to remove any muddiness, then boost 3.5kHz by +2dB for a sharper transient edge

Pan it slightly (10–15% left or right) if the main drums are already center-heavy.

Finally, set the overall level -6dB below your primary drum kit, so it adds movement and character without stealing focus.

This trick is subtle but powerful, adding texture, groove, and a bit of unpredictability to your beats while keeping everything clean and intentional.

Also, try automating the pan or volume over 4 bars to push the creativity even further.
